AI Delivery

The part between a working pilot and a working system.

We embed in your team to take AI from pilot to operational use. We measure success through working systems, not presentations on how it could work.

The situation

The technology is not the hard part.

The pilot worked. The demo landed well. Then the organisation moved on, and six months later the AI work had not gone anywhere.

AI initiatives often don't reach production, and the cause is rarely the technology. It is change management that was not owned, data that was not ready, compliance questions that arrived late, and a delivery function that handed over and disappeared.

If you have something started and need it to land in the business, that is the gap we close.

What we do

Humans are the loop. Delivery is the proof.

01

AI Delivery

When an AI initiative needs a delivery lead who will see it through to operational use. We embed alongside your team, understand the technical approach and the organisational context, and take accountability for moving it forward. We are in the work, at the right level, until the system is live and the team is running it.

A fixed-scope engagement with clear milestones. The measure of success is an AI capability that is live, used, and understood by the people responsible for it.

02

AI Pilot Rescue

When a pilot has stalled and the cause is not clear. We come in, diagnose what is blocking progress, agree what good looks like for your specific situation, and either deliver the change needed or hand back a plan your team can act on.

A short, fixed-scope engagement, typically three to six weeks. Designed to give you a clear answer quickly, not to create a dependency.

03

Fractional AI Delivery Lead

For organisations that need senior AI delivery accountability on an ongoing basis without hiring full-time. A senior delivery lead in your organisation for a defined number of days each month, owning the AI delivery function and keeping the work moving.

Typically two to four days a month, ongoing. Structured to flex as the work does.

How an engagement works

01

A 30-minute call

No deck, no pitch. We talk through where you are, what has happened so far, and what is in the way. If we are not the right fit, we will say so in the call.

02

A written response

Within a week, you receive a short written view of the situation, the options as we see them, and a suggested engagement shape if we think there is a fit.

03

A scoped engagement

If we proceed, we agree a fixed-shape engagement with defined outcomes, a clear timeline, and no hidden scope.

04

Handover that sticks

The work ends with your team running it independently. Documentation, knowledge transfer, and a clean close are part of every engagement.

Work

UK Retail Bank - details remain confidential

Moving an AI initiative from internal prototype to production

A major financial institution had a working prototype and no clear path to operational deployment. The technical proof of concept existed. The governance approach, operational model, and internal rollout plan did not. Human Kind provided delivery leadership to build those foundations and move the initiative through internal approval and into live use.

Workhouse - Independent Creative Agency

Structured AI pilots across strategy and creative

Workhouse wanted to explore AI across their business without rushing into tools or vendor decisions. Human Kind designed and ran a structured pilot programme across two workstreams, with clear briefs, guardrails, and shared ownership. The result was a clearer picture of where AI adds value, reusable workflows the team continue to use, and shared language around ethics and judgment. Read the case study.

Regulated financial services programme - details remain confidential

Delivery across a complex, regulated programme

Human Kind contributed senior delivery leadership to a complex programme within a regulated financial services environment. The work involved managing delivery across multiple stakeholders with competing priorities, navigating compliance requirements, and keeping a long programme cycle moving without losing the original intent.

John Paul Toher has delivered senior digital programmes at R/GA and Dentsu, across financial services, retail, and the creative sector in the UK, MENA region, and Eastern Europe. Human Kind holds sustainability credentials from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and the UN Staff College.

Who this is for

Teams that have already started AI work in some form, whether that is a pilot, a proof of concept, a vendor trial, or an internal build, and need it to become a working part of the business. There is usually something real to move forward. The question is who owns getting it there.

Organisations that want a delivery partner working alongside them, not above them. Someone who takes accountability for the outcome, has no interest in extending the engagement beyond what the work requires, and will tell you honestly if something is not going to work.

Questions

How quickly can you start?

Typically within two to four weeks of an initial conversation. The first engagement is short by design, so there is no long mobilisation process. If the situation is urgent, we can often move faster.

What does a typical engagement cost?

We scope every engagement against the outcome, not a day rate. The value depends on the situation and we are direct about it from the first conversation.

Why not just bring in a contractor?

A contractor gives you capacity. Human Kind gives you a delivery lead who takes accountability for the outcome, works directly alongside your team, and has no interest in extending the engagement beyond what the work requires. The person you speak to at the start is the person doing the work.

Do you build the AI yourselves, or work with existing tools?

Both, depending on what the situation requires. Where the right tool exists and is the right choice, we use it. Where building is the right approach, we build it. We have no commercial relationships with AI vendors, which means we are not incentivised to recommend any particular platform.

What if our AI work is still at idea stage, not pilot stage?

This page is not the right starting point for that. If you are at idea stage, the Digital Product and AI service is a better fit: it covers the earlier work of deciding what to build and where AI genuinely adds value. If you are somewhere in between, start a conversation and we will tell you honestly which engagement makes sense.

Tell us where you are.

We will come back within a working day with an honest view, whether or not we are the right fit. No pitch deck. No proposal. Just a conversation about what you are working on.
