How do I install Boast?

Boast is coming to the Chrome Web Store. We will update this page with the install link once the listing is live.

Why does Chrome warn that Boast can 'read my data' on LinkedIn and 'block content on any page'?

Those warnings are Chrome's stock wording for the permissions every site blocker has to request, and they describe the broadest theoretical capability of each permission rather than what the extension actually does. Boast does not read, modify, or transmit any content from LinkedIn pages. The LinkedIn host permission is only used so a single network rule can match LinkedIn URLs, and the redirect happens at the network layer before any page loads. 'Block content on any page' refers to Chrome's declarativeNetRequest API. Boast registers exactly one rule, scoped to linkedin.com only. No other site is ever affected, and your settings never leave your browser.

I saw a 'Proceed with caution' warning saying Boast is not trusted by Enhanced Safe Browsing. Is something wrong?

No. Enhanced Safe Browsing flags every new extension this way until it accrues reputation signals like install count, age, and developer history. Boast is brand new, so there is not enough data yet for the system to vouch for it. The warning typically stops appearing once an extension has been on the Store for around sixty to ninety days and has built up some installs. Nothing has changed about Boast itself; the warning is about reputation, not safety.

How do I set my schedule?

Open the Boast options page. Right-click the extension icon and choose "Options," or click the icon and follow the link to settings. The default schedule is Monday to Friday, nine to twelve and one to five. Edit per day, add multiple windows, or set the same window across all weekdays.

What happens when I open LinkedIn during a block window?

The page redirects to the Boast override page, which shows one statement at random from the active library. After thirty seconds, a "let me through" button appears. Pressing it unblocks LinkedIn for ten minutes, then re-blocks.

Can I edit or add statements?

Yes. The options page lets you disable any of the shipped statements, edit them, or write your own. New statements rotate in alongside the originals.

Does Boast block anything other than LinkedIn?

No. Version one blocks LinkedIn only. This is a deliberate constraint, not a limitation to fix later. Generic blockers already exist. Boast is opinionated about the one platform it interrupts.

Does it work in other browsers?

Boast is a Chrome extension. It runs in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers like Edge, Brave, and Arc, all of which install extensions from the Chrome Web Store. There is no Firefox or Safari build at this stage.

How do I uninstall it?

Right-click the Boast icon in the Chrome toolbar and choose "Remove from Chrome." Your local settings are removed with the extension.
